Meet the Team
Andrew Wicks
General Manager
Business Development
I started working with G&H in 2015 as a Materials Technician. After 4 years, I was promoted to Senior Technician. Within this role, I was also involved with the Operations Team and consulting with clients. After 3 years, I was awarded the position of General Manager. This was a huge honour and step in my career, and is a role I have taken immense pride in.
Within my role, I have been charged with the day-to-day running of the Company and overseeing a large growth in the volume of work, both in ongoing business and new projects. We have implemented new testing processes, equipment and lines of work to be able to keep up with an ever-growing market and cater for our valued clients’ needs as well as attract new clients from all areas of the construction industry. We have embraced the incredible innovative technology that is available within our industry and are constantly looking at ways to improve our working practices, reduce our environmental impact and reduce risks to our workforce, clients and public. We have been able to grow steadily over a prolonged period, and with the talented team we have in place, I am confident we can continue to do so.
Roger Gough
Operations Manager
Operations Department
I have worked for G&H Technical Services Ltd for over 10 years, starting as a site technician, testing soils, aggregates, concrete, but mostly asphalt. This has also involved working on the production side in plants supplying aggregates and asphalt, mostly with the testing of these products. For the last 6 years, I have been working for G&H in the role of Operations Manager.
As Operations Manager, I am responsible for organising the work that we cover. This will involve consulting with our client base to arrange and agree upon testing procedures and tasks that are required on schemes and shifts, and then conveying those instructions to the relevant staff who will be assigned to cover that work.
Maciej Jaworski
Quality Manager
Quality & Compliance
With nearly twenty years of experience in civil engineering, I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from small-scale investigations and earthworks to large infrastructure developments such as highways and railways, across various roles. My experience includes working as a technician in both permanent and site laboratories, and I enjoyed the hands-on role of a site technician. Over the years, I advanced from a technician to a senior technician, then to an engineer, and ultimately to a Quality Manager position.
My responsibilities include overseeing the upkeep of UKAS accreditation and ensuring the proper maintenance of the QMS. I assist the team with technical issues and actively contribute to research and development initiatives.
Mick Bowley
Senior Field Operations Technician
Site testing – Soils/Earthworks
With 38 years of experience in construction material testing, mainly concrete, I had up to 27 Techs (staff and agency) split between and was responsible for the quality of concrete being batched, visiting the sites daily to check works and producing reports to send to the clients. There was a brief period where I was Field Operations Manager, responsible for the daily running of the office, taking job bookings, allocating Technicians to projects, gaining UKAS for concrete testing & training Technicians. Projects I have worked on have been the Channel Tunnel, the Medway Tunnel, Heathrow, Stansted and Gatwick airports, plus various BAA projects.
I currently take job bookings from Clients, then allocate technicians to these projects to produce testing reports for soils and asphalt then issue the reports to the Clients. I am the company RPS for the nuclear gauge operation, so I deal with the EA and Anti-Terrorist Police., I conduct equipment calibration, train new field technicians.
Ian Wright
Laboratory Manager
Responsible that the workload through the Soils/Aggregates/Asphalt Lab is well maintained and processed to UKAS standards.
Previously enjoyed working in Highway’s Laboratory for KCC and Major Maintenance & “Greenfields” schemes. Then worked for Aggregate Industries, Fulton Hogan (New Zealand), ESG/BV (Structural Investigations). Then back to Laboratory work with CET and finally with G&H Technical Services Ltd.
My role is to ensure the laboratory continues to work to UKAS standards, both with the testing and training of the technicians. I also look to maintain a healthy working relationship with our clients to ensure they receive the best service possible and assistance with testing opportunities presented to G&H Technical Services Ltd

My key role was to support the development, validation and subsequent filing of analytical methods for new drug products at various stages in the R&D process. Working closely with formulation teams to establish the stability of drug products by designing various stability study schemes. After the redundancy decided to have a switch up from testing tablets to tarmac!
